Twitter was ‘absurdly’ overstaffed: Elon Musk

So, I just read this article about Twitter being “absurdly” overstaffed according to Elon Musk, and let me tell you, it was eye-opening. Basically, Musk pointed out that Twitter has around 4,000 employees, while SpaceX and Tesla, which are both much larger companies, have around 10,000 employees combined.

According to Musk, this is ridiculous and Twitter needs to cut down on its workforce in order to be more efficient. He even went on to say that “there’s a lot of waste in the system” and that Twitter “has to be careful about not becoming a bloated, slow-moving company that takes itself too seriously.”

Personally, I can see where Musk is coming from. I used to work for a company that was so overstaffed that it felt like we were constantly tripping over each other and getting in each other’s way. It definitely hindered productivity and made for a lot of unnecessary stress.

Overall, I think this article raises an important point about the importance of being lean and efficient as a company. It’s easy to get caught up in hiring more and more people, but sometimes less really is more. And in a fast-paced industry like social media, efficiency is key if you want to stay ahead of the game.
