So, I just read this crazy article about how Trudeau totally lost it on Elon Musk! Apparently, a Canadian broadcast company received some government funding and then used that money to label some of Elon Musk’s tweets as “potentially misleading.” Well, Elon wasn’t having it and he called out the company on Twitter. And then, Trudeau himself got involved and defended the labeling, which just made Elon even more upset.
But that’s not all! The article also talks about how another Canadian company, the CBC, quit Twitter altogether because they didn’t want to deal with any government interference or potential backlash from the public.
Honestly, it’s kind of scary when you think about it. As much as we like to joke about Elon’s Twitter rants, it’s a little unsettling to see the government getting involved in what is essentially free speech. And the fact that a company felt so pressured that they had to leave a major social media platform is just nuts.
I think this article really highlights the importance of keeping a close eye on government-funded media and companies. We always talk about the dangers of fake news, but what if the government itself is the one controlling the narrative? It’s definitely something to think about.
