Tesla employees reportedly passed around personal videos from owners’ cars

Have you ever left something valuable in your car? What if someone accessed your car’s camera and watched what you did? Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened to some Tesla owners. According to Business Insider, former Tesla employees revealed that colleagues would pass around personal videos from owners’ cars. These videos, recorded by Tesla’s in-car cameras, were allegedly diverted from their intended use for quality control and shared among workers like “a game of telephone”. In response, Tesla stated that “anyone found responsible for doing so will be held accountable.” This news brings up larger issues about data privacy and security, especially as cars become more connected and self-driving technology advances. It’s important for companies like Tesla to ensure proper use and protection of customer data.
