Tesla crashed into firetruck on 680 in Fremont last week: CHP

So I just read this crazy article about a Tesla crashing into a firetruck on the 680 in Fremont. Apparently the driver was on autopilot and didn’t see the firetruck with its emergency lights flashing. Talk about a scary situation!

Basically, the California Highway Patrol reported that no one was injured in the crash, but it certainly raises some concerns about the safety of self-driving cars. I mean, I love the idea of being able to kick back and relax while my car does all the work, but incidents like this make me wonder if it’s really worth the risk.

As someone who frequently drives on the 680, I know how congested that area can get, so it’s not surprising that accidents happen. But knowing that a car can malfunction and cause such a potentially dangerous situation is pretty unnerving.

At the end of the day, I think it’s important for all of us to stay informed about these new technologies and their potential risks. It’s exciting to imagine all the ways self-driving cars could change our lives, but we need to be aware of the potential downsides too.

Anyway, that’s my two cents on the issue. Stay safe out there, folks!
