SpaceX is gearing up for another rocket launch, and this time it’s happening in Florida on Wednesday. According to the company’s spokesperson, the launch will involve the Falcon 9 rocket carrying the 14th batch of Starlink communication satellites. The deployment is part of SpaceX’s goal to provide low-cost, high-performance internet worldwide. The Falcon 9 is scheduled to lift off from the Kennedy Space Center at 12:34 p.m EST, and the company has set aside a launch window of 60 minutes.
That’s not all. In less than a week, SpaceX may also launch its Falcon Heavy rocket. This rumour has been circulating on social media and space news sites, but the company has yet to confirm it. The Falcon Heavy is capable of lifting much heavier payloads than the Falcon 9, and it famously deployed Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s red Roadster into orbit during its maiden flight in 2018.
As always, SpaceX’s rocket launches have been capturing the public’s imagination. The company has proven to be one of the most successful in the field, with several milestones under its belt, such as launching the first privately-funded spacecraft to the International Space Station and pioneering reusable rockets that cut costs by millions of dollars. With the possibility of two rocket launches in a week, there’s no doubt that SpaceX will continue to be a major player in the space industry.
