So, I just read this super interesting article about Nikola Tesla - are you familiar with him? Basically, the article delves into his life and all the crazy inventions he came up with.
One of the main things that stood out to me was Tesla’s work with alternating current (AC) electricity. Apparently, he did a lot to promote its use over direct current (DC) electricity, which was the main type being used at the time. He also came up with some other pretty mind-boggling inventions, like wireless communication and even a particle beam weapon (yikes).
But the article also covers some of the struggles Tesla faced during his lifetime, including financial difficulties and struggles with mental health. And tragically, he died pretty much penniless in 1943.
As someone who’s always been interested in science and technology, reading about Tesla’s life was really eye-opening for me. It’s easy to take for granted all the conveniences we have today (electricity, internet, smartphones, you name it), but people like Tesla were the ones who pushed the boundaries and made it all possible.
Anyway, I highly recommend giving the article a read - it’s a great reminder of just how fascinating and sometimes unpredictable history can be.
