So, I just read an article about Elon Musk and how he’s now tightened the reins at Tesla even more. Apparently, he’s decided that he needs to personally approve of every new hire. Talk about controlling!
The article I read, called “Musk tells Tesla staff he must approve all hiring” by The Information, explains that Musk wants to make sure that every new employee is up to par and that they’re a good fit for the company culture. I can see why he would want that, but it seems a bit extreme to me.
Personally, I think that having a CEO who’s so involved in the hiring process could be both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it means that employees are more likely to be a good match for the company and will bring fresh ideas to the table. But on the other, it could also lead to a bottleneck in the hiring process and could potentially slow down the company’s growth.
Overall, though, I think it’s important to have a strong leader who’s willing to make tough calls when it comes to who gets hired. After all, hiring the right people is crucial to the success of any company, and if Musk feels like he needs to be hands-on in that process, I can understand why.
