There’s this article I came across on CNN Business that talks about how Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter, no longer thinks Elon Musk is the right person to run Twitter. As someone who uses Twitter quite often, this caught my attention, and I thought I’d share with you what I learned.
Basically, Dorsey recently stated that Musk has too many competing priorities with his other businesses, such as SpaceX and Tesla, to be a good fit for running Twitter. It’s not surprising that Dorsey would say this, given that he himself was pushed out of Twitter a few years ago due to similar concerns about his divided attention.
In addition to Musk’s busy schedule, there’s also the matter of his behavior on Twitter. Musk has been known to tweet some pretty controversial and sometimes offensive things, which has gotten him into trouble in the past. This is a big concern for a platform like Twitter, which is already under scrutiny for its handling of hate speech and misinformation.
Personally, I think it’s probably a good thing that Dorsey is looking for someone else to take over the reins at Twitter. Despite all its flaws, Twitter has become such a ubiquitous part of our online lives, and it’s important that it’s run by someone who takes its responsibilities seriously. Who knows, maybe the next CEO will come up with some innovative solutions to the problems that have plagued Twitter for years.
