So, I came across this article talking about Jack Dorsey’s opinion on the possibility of Elon Musk buying Twitter. Apparently, he’s not too thrilled about it. According to the piece, Dorsey thinks Musk becoming the owner of Twitter would be ‘bad’ for the platform.
Now, if you’re not too familiar with these guys, Jack Dorsey is the founder of Twitter, and Elon Musk is… well, Elon Musk. Owner of Tesla, SpaceX, and pretty much everything else. They’re both tech geniuses in their own right, so it’s interesting to see one criticize the other.
Anyway, getting back to the article. Apparently, Dorsey thinks Musk’s tendency to troll people on Twitter might not be the best thing for the platform’s image. Makes sense, I mean, Twitter can already be a pretty toxic place as it is. We don’t need the owner adding fuel to the fire.
On top of that, Dorsey seems to think that Musk might not be the most stable person to own such a big corporation. And let’s be real, Musk has had his fair share of controversies, from his controversial tweets about the pandemic to his Twitter feud with rapper Azealia Banks.
All in all, I think this article raises some valid points. As someone who’s been on Twitter for years, I’ve seen how much the platform has changed over time. It’s become a breeding ground for hate speech and misinformation, with countless cases of cyberbullying and trolling. I don’t think having Musk at the helm of things would do much to change that.
But hey, that’s just my two cents. What do you think?
