Elon Musk says he's paying for 3 celebrities' blue checkmarks on Twitter

So I just read this article about Elon Musk buying verified Twitter accounts for some celebs. Apparently, he’s shelling out some serious dough to get three famous people those coveted blue checkmarks on their profiles. And while it might seem like a weird flex, there’s actually a pretty good reason behind it.

According to the article, Twitter has been cracking down on fake accounts and bot activity lately. And as you probably know, verified accounts (which are marked with a blue checkmark) are supposed to be reserved for public figures and brands. But with so many fake accounts out there, it can be hard to know who’s legit and who’s not.

That’s where Elon Musk comes in. By purchasing these verified accounts for celebs who might not have been able to get them otherwise, he’s helping to improve the overall authenticity of Twitter. And it’s not like he’s just randomly picking people out of a hat - he’s allegedly choosing celebs who are working on important causes or who have interesting perspectives to share.

Personally, I think this is a pretty cool move on Elon’s part. It’s not often that we see billionaires using their money for good, but this seems like a genuinely helpful way to make Twitter a better place. Plus, it’s always fun to see celebs interacting with their fans online.

Overall, I think this article is a reminder of how important authenticity is in online spaces like Twitter. It can be easy to get caught up in follower counts or trying to seem more popular than you really are, but at the end of the day, what really matters is being yourself and having real conversations with real people. And if Elon Musk can help more people do that on Twitter, then hey - more power to him.
