Elon Musk reportedly threatened to reassign NPR's Twitter account due to inactivity | Engadget

As a writer for a news site, an article I stumbled across today caught my attention. It appears that Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, reportedly threatened to reassign National Public Radio’s (NPR) Twitter account due to inactivity.

According to the article, Musk tweeted at NPR after noticing that their account had not posted anything in two months. He threatened to give the account to “a 12-year-old who knows how to use Twitter” if they failed to start tweeting again.

NPR’s social media editor responded by assuring Musk that they were still active on other social media platforms and that their Twitter account was not the sole representation of their digital presence. Musk replied, “May need to create a site where the public can rate the core truth of any article & track the credibility score over time of each journalist, editor & publication. Thinking of calling it Pravda.”

This exchange had many people scratching their heads as they tried to make sense of Musk’s words. However, this isn’t the first time Musk has made controversial statements on Twitter. He has previously used the platform to make bold predictions, insult competitors, and even reveal company plans.

While the exchange between Musk and NPR might seem trivial, it highlights the increasing importance of social media in our society today. With so many people getting their news and information from social media, it’s crucial for news organizations to have a strong and active presence on these platforms.

In conclusion, Elon Musk’s threat to reassign NPR’s Twitter account might seem like a small incident, but it brings to light the crucial role social media plays in today’s world. As technology continues to evolve and social media becomes even more ingrained in our lives, it’s essential for individuals and organizations to be aware of the power and influence of these platforms.
