So, I just read this article about how Elon Musk, the dude behind Tesla and SpaceX, has apparently chosen Linda Yaccarino, a former advertising executive at NBCUniversal, to be the new CEO of Twitter! Honestly, I never really thought about who runs Twitter, but it makes sense that Musk would want to shake things up since he’s been such a big critic of the platform lately.
Basically, the article says that Musk thinks Twitter should have more features to promote healthy conversation and combat misinformation, and he thinks Yaccarino is the person to make that happen. She’s apparently a big name in the advertising world and has worked on some pretty high-profile campaigns, so it’ll be interesting to see what direction she takes Twitter in.
Personally, I’m not the biggest Twitter user. I have an account and follow some people, but I don’t really tweet much myself. However, I do think it’s important to have social media platforms that foster productive conversations and don’t just spread hate and division. If Yaccarino can help make Twitter a more positive and informative place, then that’s definitely a win in my book.
All in all, it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out and what changes Yaccarino brings to the table. Will Twitter become the next big thing thanks to her leadership, or will it fizzle out like so many other social media platforms? Only time will tell, I suppose!
