Elon Musk is known for his eccentric and innovative ways of celebrating events. This year, he celebrated the 4/20 cannabis culture day in his own unique style. The SpaceX CEO, who is also the founder and CEO of companies like Tesla and The Boring Company, had a lot on his plate on this special day.
On Tuesday, 20th April, Musk’s SpaceX launched a Dragon cargo resupply to the International Space Station (ISS) from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This is not the first time a SpaceX launch has coincided with the 4/20 celebrations. In 2019, the company launched a payload of Cannabis into orbit as a part of an agricultural experiment.
Apart from the SpaceX launch, Musk also announced on Twitter that he had removed the “check” on his account. This check is a small blue tick that confirms the authenticity of an account. Musk tweeted, “Btw, I’ve removed my last remaining house filter. Just me now.” This announcement came after the Tesla CEO had changed his name on Twitter to “X.”
This year’s 4/20 celebrations were also significant for the cannabis industry as Vice President, Kamala Harris, had tweeted her support for legalizing cannabis. Elon Musk shared the tweet and wrote, “Finally.”
Elon Musk’s celebration of 4/20 in his own unique way may seem like just another attention-catching publicity stunt, but it highlights a deeper message. It is a nod towards innovation and creativity, characteristics that are essential in the tech industry. Musk’s ability to think outside the box has given him a place among the most influential entrepreneurs of our generation. His eccentric style also serves as an inspiration to millions of people who look up to him.
